We have seen many llamas over the last 28 years or so of our llama involvement including hundreds carefully bred and then born on our farm. We have bred some notable national merit winners like Star Power Seeker owned now by the Nenni's and Star Status Symbol owned by the Lash's. Peruvian Precedent, another premium male born and bred here was recently sold to the Tallmons in Oregon and is currently featured on the front cover of the spring 2011 Llama Banner magazine. Precedent sired many top crias including 2 national suri champions in Star Spiral Heartbreaker owned by Solid Rock llamas and Star Dynamica owned by Lamara Springs llamas. Excellerator is the last Precedent cria to be born at Star Llama Company and will be one of our best males ever produced here. His sire and dam also produced Star Spangled Banner now owned by Llama Lookout in New Zealand. Star Spangled Banner was named top suri male in NZ at the Christchurch National show in 2009. He has gone on to win show after show and sire many suri offspring for Robyn Robinson while establishing suri bloodstock in NZ as one of the first suri Imports. Returning to the fundamental reasons, this male is our top pick over many years of production. Let's start with structure. He is straight, strong and comes from an E-Line influenced dam that has procuded size and outstanding specimens in the past, including Star Elegant Angel our keeper daughter from Enigma. Star Excellerator has fine suri fiber, and great coverage, on a balanced frame, that is already above average in size for his age. He will make a great breeding and show male with his easy gentle atitude and those all important perfect shaped ears. Keep in mind that he is unrelated to Kantu and will fit many breeding programs that would value a top flight male from consistent producing parents.

Hot Rod was selected to add his suri influence at Star Llama Company as one of our 7 unrelated suri bloodlines. His Suri influence is from the Canaletto II line owned by the Steffels in Colorado which has had a good measure of success in the suri marketplace. Being Canaletto's 3rd son he is the first to have suri babies on the ground in the fall of 2008. We anticipate more multi-colored suri offspring as we should from the depth of multiple colors in Hot Rod's genetic tree. One of his fall 2009 offspring is a stunning suri red and white male from the same mom that produced the LFA high seller at the 2009 Auction (Star Dynamica). This new male named Dynamic Design was recently acquired by Criven llamas and will be one to watch for in the show and marketplace results over his breeding career. Hot Rod is easy to work with and is a vigorous breeder. He is ready to go to work for you and will inject that new unrelated suri factor into your breeding program instantly. Hot Rod is full Chilean which adds another dimension of geographically isolated genetic influence on top of the suri type.
Awards Received
His first fleece scored 3rd at the first National SLA fiber judging at Indianapolis in 2008. The fiber entered in the show is now on display at Llama Lookout in New Zealand.
